Job Description
We are seeking a Contracts Manager / Engineer to join our team to support Project Construction Execution based at the Hyco 4 Site in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. You will report to the Regional Director or Project Contracts Manager depending on level of experience. This position requires site experience and knowledge in contract management for all main construction (civils, mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation, and scaffolding) and site services contracts, as the project is already in execution. This is a hands-on role to manage all aspects of contracts management and administration.
The role primarily requires post-award contract and claims management, but more broadly requires experience in:

Contract strategy, contract development, and creating workable contracting plans for execution.

Market enquiries using pro-forma contract models for a wide range of site services contracts and purchase orders, including developing bid packages with contract terms, BOQ assessments, preambles, and supporting technical and commercial evaluations.

Understanding of contract and purchase order commercial models (unit rates, BOQ, reimbursable, and lump sum) and contract administration for managing contract terms and application.

Negotiation and award of contracts and purchase orders, including alignment on technical and commercial clarifications and recommendations for award.

Site experience managing contracts and contractors to meet project requirements, ensuring cooperation, coordination, and administration through execution.

Robust change management, including oversight of site changes, site instructions, engineering changes, and mitigation of contract cost and schedule impacts.

Proactive claims management, including drafting notices, correspondence, counterclaims, and building dossiers for communications, changes, delays, and mitigation.

SAP registration and management for contracts and purchase orders, including invoice management and payment support. NDA’s will be required as per process.

Use of online procurement platforms for bidding contracts and purchase orders, prequalification, supplier approval, and supporting commercial/technical evaluation and award management.

Reporting to ensure accurate forecasting of contract deliverables and proactive workload management.

Requirements

15+ years’ experience in contracts, preferably in industrial gases or complex engineering/construction projects.
-
MRICS and/or CIPS certification.
-
Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical/Civil) or Quantity Surveying degree is advantageous.

Strong experience in contracts and purchase orders and contractual language.

Excellent oral and written English proficiency.
