Location: Doha, Qatar (Onshore)

Work Schedule: Sunday to Thursday, 8-10 hours per day

About the Role
We're seeking an experienced Contracts Lead to oversee and guide a team of contracting professionals for a leading energy operator in Qatar. This position plays a strategic role in managing contract strategies, tender execution, and post-award administration to ensure corporate compliance, value optimisation, and reliable service delivery to key stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in contracts management within the oil and gas industry, with proven experience in large-scale EPC contracts, claims resolution, and supplier performance management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of contracting strategies to meet corporate and operational objectives.
- Ensure compliance across all tendering and contracting processes, including bid evaluations, negotiations, and awards.
- Provide expert guidance on commercial and contractual queries to deliver high-quality support to end users.
- Oversee post-award contract administration, ensuring service providers meet obligations and apply contract terms accurately.
- Promote effective use of contract management systems and tools to enhance transparency and control.
- Review and contribute to the development of annual demand plans, ensuring timely execution and alignment with corporate priorities.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and implement best practices to enhance contracting efficiency.
- Monitor supplier performance and coordinate with market intelligence teams to support negotiation strategies and cost optimisation.
- Support internal and external audits, peer reviews, and compliance assessments to maintain robust governance standards.
- Drive professional development and succession planning within the contracts team to sustain high performance and capability.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a Commercial discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in contracts management within the oil and gas industry, including exposure to EPC projects.
- Proven expertise in supplier relations, contract law, and industry best practices.
- Strong experience managing EPC claims and disputes, including delay analysis, time impact studies, and claim evaluations.
- Skilled in interpreting contract terms and negotiating claims with contractors.
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and leadership skills.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
