Position Title: Contracts Lead

Location: Onshore - Qatar

Work Schedule: 10 hours/day, 6 days/week, 26 days/month

Contract Term: 36 months (with potential for extension)

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Contracts Lead to join a high-impact energy infrastructure programme in the Middle East. The project is of national importance and involves the development and expansion of a major onshore facility. You'll play a pivotal role in driving complex EPC contracts and be the central link between project execution and contractual governance.

This is a long-term expatriate assignment with significant exposure to major engineering and construction contracts. If you thrive under pressure and bring confidence in navigating high-value tenders and claims, this role offers a rewarding challenge in a collaborative and fast-paced setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation and execution of complex, high-value contracts including technical, commercial and risk assessments
  • Interpret scope of work and ensure accurate documentation in compliance with company and local regulatory standards
  • Support tendering activities and vendor evaluations for engineering, procurement, and construction packages
  • Provide expert advice on contract terms and negotiation strategies
  • Manage contract correspondence, amendments, and claims in coordination with multiple stakeholders
  • Assist in contract audits and resolution of audit findings
  • Ensure full alignment with internal departments including legal, finance, technical and SHEQ teams
  • Drive contract close-outs, ensuring fulfilment of obligations and no outstanding claims or deliverables

     

Ideal Candidate

  • Minimum 8 years' experience in oil and gas or energy sectors, with at least 5 years in a contracts or procurement lead capacity
  • Strong background in reimbursable procurement models and major EPC contracts
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Commercial, Engineering or a related discipline
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and contract management systems
  • Strong negotiation, analytical and communication skills
  • Previous experience working on large-scale infrastructure or industrial projects in the Middle East is advantageous
