Contract Manager – Green Energy Construction Project
Location: Boden, Sweden (Residential or Rotation: 5 weeks on-site, 3 weeks remote)
Assignment Type: Annually Renewable Contract
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday

Overview:
We are supporting a pioneering green industrial project in Northern Sweden that is shaping the future of sustainable steel production. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a world-first initiative using cutting-edge technology to dramatically reduce carbon emissions in heavy industry.

We are seeking an experienced Contract Manager to join the on-site delivery team and play a key role in managing contracts across a major construction programme. This role supports the project delivery and site leadership teams and ensures effective contract administration, stakeholder engagement, and risk management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage contracts and contractor performance on-site, with a focus on compliance and administration

  • Collaborate as part of an integrated, cross-functional site team

  • Identify contractual and commercial risks and develop mitigation strategies

  • Support development and execution of contracting strategies in line with project needs

  • Prepare, process, and enforce Change Requests, Change Orders, and claims

  • Participate in contract review and support negotiation processes

  • Coordinate with other contract managers to ensure consistent contract interpretation

  • Provide contractual guidance to internal teams including engineering, finance, legal, and technical functions

  • Maintain clear, accurate, and transparent contract documentation and correspondence

  • Monitor compliance with internal project management systems and procedures

  • Contribute to risk identification and mitigation planning throughout project phases

Required Experience and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience as a Contract Manager on large-scale construction projects

  • Background in legal, commercial, or technical disciplines with a relevant university degree or equivalent

  • Strong understanding of contract law, procurement processes, and claims management

  • Excellent communication skills – clear, direct, and professional in both spoken and written communication

  • Fluent in Swedish (written and verbal) is essential

  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with diverse project teams and stakeholders
