CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISOR (INSTRUMENTATION) 

Location: Qatar

Qualification

  • Degree from a recognized university or Diploma in Instrumentation, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering with extensive construction experience.
  • Good skills in construction management, communication, conflict resolution.
  • Relevant HSE, QA/QC, and construction courses preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum 15 years' experience in E&I construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning in oil & gas, power, or large-scale solar (Photovoltaic) projects.
  • Strong technical background in Instrumentation & Control systems, including sensors, transmitters, controllers, PLCs, SCADA, and other relevant instrumentation equipment.
  • Experience in construction project management, installation, testing, and commissioning of Instrumentation & Control systems.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and control system layouts for accurate implementation.
  • Exposure to multinational contractors and implementation of industry best practices, systems, and standards.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to resolve technical and contractual issues at site.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Construction Supervision & Coordination

  • Supervise EPIC contractors during construction activities on site.
  • Review detailed design drawings, method statements, material requisitions, and related documentation.
  • Coordinate contractor mobilization and demobilization.
  • Supervise and approve installation of instrumentation and control systems, earthing works, cable tray installation, cable laying and termination, and Fire Alarm Systems.
  • Supervise installation of Fiber Optic cabling, control panels, junction boxes, and related ELV systems.
  • Ensure coordination with mechanical, HVAC, fire protection, and building services works.
  • Perform cable termination and loop checking; oversee pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.

Quality, Safety & Reporting

  • Inspect construction works and materials per project quality plans and ITPs.
  • Maintain daily progress records and report anomalies, deviations, or safety concerns.
  • Coordinate with QA/QC and HSE personnel on quality and safety matters.
  • Prepare punch lists and support as-built drawing/documentation development.
  • Facilitate Mechanical Completion Certificates, Hand Over Certificates, Acceptance Certificates, and Project Completion & Discharge Certificates.

Team & Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate with other construction supervisors (mechanical, electrical) and senior project engineers to ensure smooth execution of project activities.
  • Support development of junior staff and trainees on site.
