Job Title: Construction Supervisor - Civil

Location: Qatar

Overview

A leading oil and gas company is seeking an experienced Civil Construction Supervisor to oversee civil and infrastructure works, including roads, highways, and cross-country pipelines, on major onshore projects. The role ensures safety, quality, and compliance with project standards throughout all phases of construction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor project site activities, conduct inspections, and ensure work complies with approved risk assessments, method statements, and permit-to-work systems.
  • Identify and implement risk reduction measures across all construction phases.
  • Review and check contractors' method statements, safety certifications, and related documentation, taking corrective action as needed.
  • Supervise and coordinate contractor activities to achieve project safety and quality goals.
  • Attend site meetings with contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to review progress and address critical issues promptly.
  • Conduct field inspections, surveys, and provide guidance on administrative or technical matters.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety regulations, project safety plans, and relevant environmental standards.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents on site and coordinate preventive and corrective actions.
  • Provide technical assistance and guidance to contractors and project teams.
  • Serve as a construction focal point, coordinating multidisciplinary project issues and liaising with internal departments and contractors.
  • Update daily and weekly progress reports and verify contractor submissions for accuracy.
  • Resolve routine site issues and escalate technical queries to senior construction supervisors.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  • 10-15 years of experience in civil and infrastructure works for oil and gas projects, including major onshore projects.
  • Knowledge of local, national, and international codes, standards, and specifications.
  • Strong supervisory, planning, coordination, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in site inspections, reporting, and construction management.
  • Ability to work in diverse cultural environments and collaborate effectively across teams.
