Job Title: Senior Construction Lead
Location: Karratha, Western Australia (FIFO from Perth only)
Contract Duration: 3-4 months, until 30 December 2025
Roster: 2:1 (site-based, 11-hour days including breaks)

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Construction Lead to support delivery of a pioneering industrial project in Western Australia. This role involves leading construction activities, coordinating with multiple stakeholders, and ensuring quality, cost, and schedule targets are met in a complex, high-risk environment.
You will be responsible for providing technical oversight, supporting project management, and ensuring construction execution aligns with industry standards, safety requirements, and project objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Construction & Commissioning Manager as required
- Develop and implement construction and commissioning processes and procedures
- Provide supervision and technical assistance at manufacturing, fabrication, and installation sites
- Review project deliverables, focusing on constructability and commissioning input
- Prepare construction execution plans, scopes of work, schedules, and mobilisation requirements
- Contribute to cost estimates and project budgets
- Lead constructability reviews and input to project execution plans
- Assist procurement and subcontract teams with scope definitions, evaluations, and awards
- Liaise between contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers
- Provide cost and schedule input for fabricated items/packages and follow up on quality and delivery
- Produce progress reports for project management and stakeholders
- Manage planning and design stages of construction projects
- Ensure safe, high-quality, and environmentally responsible execution of construction activities
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or relevant trade qualification
- Formal training in project management (PMP or equivalent) desirable
- Minimum 15 years' experience in oil and gas or industrial plant construction, with at least 10 years focused on construction leadership roles
- Strong background in SMP (structural, mechanical, piping) construction
- Demonstrated success on Australian onshore construction projects
- Proven ability to manage cost, schedule, and risk in complex construction environments
- Strong problem-solving, organisational, and leadership skills
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and construction management databases
- Effective English communication skills (oral and written)
