The Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled Compensation & Benefits Specialist to join a major energy operator based in Doha. In this role, you will provide expert advice and lead key processes related to compensation, benefits, and salary administration. You will support the company’s ability to attract, retain, and motivate a high-performing, diverse workforce—while ensuring internal equity and competitive positioning in the market.

This role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in compensation frameworks, salary benchmarking, HR analytics, and reward strategy within complex and multi-layered organisations.

Job Purpose
Advise, design, and execute compensation, benefits, and salary administration activities to enable workforce competitiveness and equity while supporting organisational cost-effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

Compensation Administration & Analysis

  • Oversee the annual performance bonus and merit increase cycle, ensuring accurate calculations, policy compliance, and timely submission.

  • Review salary actions related to promotions, transfers, and internal equity, ensuring decisions align with policy and business needs.

  • Validate salary offers for new hires, balancing attractiveness, internal parity, and cost efficiency.

  • Conduct ad hoc salary benchmarking and prepare recommendations based on market insights.

  • Manage and process personnel action forms for salary changes and other compensation-related events.

Market Benchmarking & Strategy Development

  • Coordinate participation in local, regional, and international compensation and benefits surveys.

  • Analyse survey results, identify trends, and prepare executive-ready reports benchmarking QatarEnergy LNG against peers.

  • Conduct job benchmarking exercises by aligning internal roles with market data to maintain internal equity.

  • Provide consolidated biennial salary benchmarking reports, offering strategic recommendations for aligning reward policies with market trends.

Policy Communication & Stakeholder Management

  • Communicate compensation programs and policy changes clearly to leadership and employees.

  • Provide subject matter expertise to senior managers and executives on compensation strategy and practices.

  • Support the organisation in implementing motivational and cost-effective total reward solutions.

Candidate Profile

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or Commerce.

  • Professional certification such as CIPD, CCP, GRP, or SHRM is required.

Experience

  • Minimum 8 years of HR experience, with at least 5 years focused on compensation & benefits.

  • Strong working knowledge of compensation strategy, salary administration, incentive design, and relevant legislation.

  • Proven experience using HR Information Systems (HRIS) for managing compensation data and workflows.

  • Familiarity with designing compensation frameworks for various departments and job levels.

Skills & Competencies

  • Fluent in English (written and spoken) with excellent presentation and reporting skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to lead meetings, facilitate discussions, and influence decision-making at senior levels.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and an analytical mindset, capable of interpreting complex data and making actionable recommendations.
