Job Title: Commissioning Lead (Mechanical)
Location: Qatar (70 percent Onshore, 30 percent Offshore)
Contract Type: Fixed-Term – 36 Months
Schedule: 10 hours per day, 6 days per week (approx. 26 days per month)
Start Date: ASAP

Overview
We are working with a global client on a large-scale offshore development and are looking to engage a Commissioning Lead (Mechanical) for a long-term role based in Qatar. This position will be focused on the safe and efficient execution of mechanical commissioning across both onshore and offshore assets. The successful candidate will work closely with contractors, engineering teams and vendors to ensure systems are delivered and transitioned smoothly to operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all mechanical commissioning activities.

  • Liaise with contractors and vendors to ensure systems meet quality and safety requirements.

  • Review procedures, P and IDs, datasheets and drawings.

  • Support pre-commissioning, function testing and system handover.

  • Monitor progress and manage risks during execution.

  • Participate in inspections, factory testing and vendor reviews.

  • Collaborate with operations and start-up teams.

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in oil and gas commissioning roles.

  • At least 1 year in a supervisory or oversight capacity.

  • Ability to read and interpret P and IDs, layouts and technical documentation.

  • Experience working with mechanical packages such as compressors, power systems and topsides equipment.

  • Familiarity with commissioning procedures, operations handover and international standards.

  • Experience supporting large-scale international projects preferred.
