Location: Qatar (70 percent Onshore, 30 percent Offshore)

Overview
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Commissioning Lead to oversee the electrical commissioning activities of a large-scale infrastructure project. This key position will involve managing contractor teams, providing technical oversight, and ensuring the successful delivery of commissioning and pre-commissioning activities. The role requires strong collaboration with multiple teams, including engineering, construction, operations, and vendors, to ensure compliance with project specifications and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the electrical commissioning team and provide oversight and direction to subcontractors and vendors.

Work closely with the facilities team and EPC contractors to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.

Coordinate inspections, shop testing, and factory acceptance testing where required.

Oversee the commissioning of new electrical systems including jackets, topside decks, pipelines, cables, risers, and other offshore modifications.

Ensure that all commissioning activities are aligned with the project schedule and safety requirements.

Contribute to the development of commissioning documents, including procedures, method statements, and check sheets.

Manage system completion, walkdowns, and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR).

Maintain compliance with project technical specifications, codes, and standards.
Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Sciences or Engineering.

Minimum 8 years of commissioning experience within the Oil & Gas industry.

At least 1 year of experience in a supervisory or leadership role, overseeing vendors or contractors.

Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including LV, MV, and HV systems, power distribution, control systems, and protection relays.

Expertise in reading and interpreting technical drawings such as P&IDs, datasheets, and general arrangement drawings.

Experience with electrical commissioning in LNG, power generation, and topside facilities.

Familiarity with project execution, operations, pre-commissioning, and systems completion.

Knowledge of compliance with industry standards, codes, and technical specifications.

Experience in start-up support and handover to operations.
