Location: Qatar (70 percent Onshore, 30 percent Offshore)
Contract Type: Fixed-Term – 36 Months
Schedule: 10 hours per day, 6 days per week (approx. 26 days per month)

Overview
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Commissioning Lead to oversee the electrical commissioning activities of a large-scale infrastructure project. This key position will involve managing contractor teams, providing technical oversight, and ensuring the successful delivery of commissioning and pre-commissioning activities. The role requires strong collaboration with multiple teams, including engineering, construction, operations, and vendors, to ensure compliance with project specifications and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the electrical commissioning team and provide oversight and direction to subcontractors and vendors.

  • Work closely with the facilities team and EPC contractors to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.

  • Coordinate inspections, shop testing, and factory acceptance testing where required.

  • Oversee the commissioning of new electrical systems including jackets, topside decks, pipelines, cables, risers, and other offshore modifications.

  • Ensure that all commissioning activities are aligned with the project schedule and safety requirements.

  • Contribute to the development of commissioning documents, including procedures, method statements, and check sheets.

  • Manage system completion, walkdowns, and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR).

  • Maintain compliance with project technical specifications, codes, and standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Sciences or Engineering.

  • Minimum 8 years of commissioning experience within the Oil & Gas industry.

  • At least 1 year of experience in a supervisory or leadership role, overseeing vendors or contractors.

  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including LV, MV, and HV systems, power distribution, control systems, and protection relays.

  • Expertise in reading and interpreting technical drawings such as P&IDs, datasheets, and general arrangement drawings.

  • Experience with electrical commissioning in LNG, power generation, and topside facilities.

  • Familiarity with project execution, operations, pre-commissioning, and systems completion.

  • Knowledge of compliance with industry standards, codes, and technical specifications.

  • Experience in start-up support and handover to operations.
