Job Description
Job Purpose
The Hook-Up and Commissioning Lead (ICSS) oversees and guides the project's main contractor, sub-contractors, and vendors during the offshore hook-up and commissioning stages. This role requires collaboration and interface with the HUC team, facilities team, contractors, and operations personnel to provide technical expertise on ICSS principles, codes, and standards. Responsibilities include supporting change management processes, supervising procedure reviews, ensuring accurate documentation during all construction and commissioning phases, and validating project readiness for asset handover.
Key Job Accountabilities
1. Support project management team by reviewing critical documents and participating in workshops or review meetings.
2. Evaluate technical proposals and deviations to ensure compliance with project policies and procedures.
3. Apply and share lessons learned from previous projects.
4. Support qualification of new suppliers for the project.
5. Assess contractor's manpower loading and make recommendations as needed.
6. Ensure project milestones are met and develop recovery plans if required.
7. Witness contractor's work and sign off on test and check sheets.
8. Verify accuracy of contractor progress reports.
9. Participate in quality audit activities and provide plans to address identified issues.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Sciences or Engineering.
Knowledge and Experience
- Minimum 8 years' experience in large-project commissioning within the Oil & Gas Industry, including at least 1 year in a supervisory or oversight role.
- Proven knowledge and experience in hook-up and commissioning delivery, completions walkdowns, and pre-startup safety reviews.
- Extensive experience in Integrated Control and Safety Systems (ICSS) for major EPC contracts, with strong technical commissioning skills.
- Familiarity with design standards, codes, specifications, and safety criteria.
- Background working with Oil & Gas operators, contractors or service companies.
- Proficiency in interpreting P&IDs, datasheets, drawings, and procedures.
- Knowledge of project execution, operations, pre-commissioning, and commissioning.
- Experience with vendors and contractors supplying equipment and systems for large-scale projects.
- Experience supporting operational start-up processes.
