Job Title: Commissioning Lead – Telecom & Cybersecurity
Location: Qatar
Contract Duration: 36 months (estimated start ASAP – 2027)
Position Summary
We are seeking a Commissioning Lead (Telecom & Cybersecurity) to manage the execution of telecom and industrial control system cybersecurity commissioning activities for a major offshore project. The role ensures that commissioning objectives are achieved safely, on schedule, and in compliance with international standards and internal procedures.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the execution of telecom and ICSS cybersecurity commissioning activities, optimising onshore vs offshore work while adhering to all safety requirements, including SIMOPS.

Monitor vendor and contractor activities during site acceptance tests (SAT), punchlist clearance, and overall commissioning progress.

Ensure the commissioning methodology is followed and system databases are used correctly.

Maintain strict cybersecurity practices and compliance with IEC 62443 and other relevant frameworks.

Oversee cybersecurity for ICSS systems including DCS, IPS, FGS, electrical control systems, and third-party packages such as HIPPS and PLCs.

Monitor network firewalls, L2/L3 network implementation, and troubleshooting.

Ensure availability of required spare parts and specialised tools for telecom commissioning.

Review and approve commissioning deliverables from contractors.

Provide guidance on commissioning execution plans, verifying compliance with contract requirements, codes, and standards.

Maintain a lessons-learned register related to telecom and cybersecurity commissioning.
Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Sciences or Engineering.

8+ years’ relevant experience, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role.

Experience commissioning telecom systems, including RADIO (UHF/VHF, VHF Marine), RACON, ACS, PAGA, Data LAN/WAN, CCTV, Telephone, meteorological equipment, fabrication yard, onshore, and offshore interfaces.

Hands-on experience with FO cable testing (OTDR, power meter).

Experience with Industrial Control System (ICS) networks, cybersecurity, endpoint security, and system backup solutions.

Experience managing EPC contractors, subcontractors, and vendors across multiple locations.

Knowledge of system completion databases, stakeholder specifications, international and industry standards.

Strong understanding of project execution, engineering, operations, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and systems completion.

Expert in reading P&IDs, datasheets, general arrangement drawings, and technical procedures.

Previous experience with large-scale operations, oil & gas, or LNG projects is preferred.

Work Schedule
