Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the project representative on board Cable Lay Vessel or Installation Support Vessel during array cable loadout, lay, and pull-in activities.
- Maintain accurate records of all installation activities daily throughout project execution.
- Ensure adherence to approved procedures and risk assessments by the Contractor.
- Promote and ensure proactive safety and quality management.
- Lead by example and uphold company values.
Tasks:
- Prepare and distribute Daily Progress Reports (DPR) as required and ensure all parties sign them.
- Review and stay updated on relevant risk assessment, method statement, and QHSE documents.
- Participate in daily meetings, toolbox talks, and discussions to ensure safety and quality standards.
- Witness installation activities and inspect all work areas, ensuring safe access.
- Participate in safety walks with HSE representatives.
- Carry out incident and safety walk reporting as required.
Deliverables:
- Record daily activities related to cable lay and installation, including Contractor task completion.
- Submit completed and signed Daily Progress Reports.
- Immediately report any safety, quality, or procedural deviations.
- Report on Contractor equipment maintenance programs.
Decision Authority:
- Authority to intervene or stop operations in case of safety or quality infringements or procedure deviations.
- Recommend and agree to minor changes to ongoing works.
Requirements:
Mandatory:
- Valid GWO courses: Sea Survival, Working at Heights, Enhanced First Aid, Fire Awareness, Manual Handling.
- HUET, STCW 2010, OPITO or BOSIET, and EBS certifications.
- OEUK (or equivalent) medical certificate including Chester Step.
- IOSH Managing Safely or similar HSE training.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in offshore power cable installation.
Preferred:
- LOLER and CDM qualifications.
- Marine awareness qualifications as required by the role.
- Knowledge of Offshore Rigging and/or Rope Access Codes of Practice.
- Minimum 10 years' experience as an offshore client representative.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet, and relevant reporting tools.
