Overview
A major onshore energy development is seeking an experienced Civil Construction Superintendent to provide frontline leadership across civil and structural construction activities. The role is responsible for safe, efficient, and quality-driven execution of all assigned works, ensuring alignment with project schedule, standards, and technical requirements. This position requires strong oversight of a large EPC contractor and the ability to manage multi-cultural construction teams in a high-visibility project environment.
Key Responsibilities

Provide visible safety leadership and promote a safety-first culture across all civil and structural activities

Review and comment on civil and structural technical documents and non-technical submissions

Ensure all construction activities comply with relevant policies, procedures, regulations, and standards

Apply contractual awareness when engaging with contractors on schedule, technical, and cost-related issues

Build strong working relationships with contractor teams and internal project functions including safety, quality, engineering, and business support

Participate in planning and risk assessment sessions, supporting mitigation strategies

Ensure daily and weekly construction walkdowns are completed to maintain safe and compliant worksites

Attend workface planning meetings, safety meetings, and toolbox talks to confirm clarity of upcoming tasks

Monitor schedule performance and collaborate with contractors to identify constraints and implement corrective actions

Review contractor daily, weekly, and monthly reports, verify progress, and analyse performance trends
Candidate Requirements

Diploma and discipline-specific or trade-based vocational certification

Minimum 8 years’ experience in major construction projects within the oil and gas industry, covering construction, installation, fabrication, execution, completion, and hook-up

Minimum 1 year in a supervisory, acting supervisory, or vendor oversight role

Strong IT literacy including Word, Excel, PDF tools, and document management systems

Ability to read and interpret approved-for-construction drawings

Ability to use (read) 3D model software (e.g., Navisworks)

Ability to review and verify civil and structural installation plans

Ability to work within scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera) and advanced work packaging systems

Strong understanding of civil and structural construction methods, preferably within major LNG or large onshore energy projects

Knowledge of relevant civil and structural design standards, specifications, codes, and safety criteria

Familiarity with industry-standard construction processes for onshore facilities and associated utilities
