Job Title: Civil Engineer - Structural and Construction Projects
Location: Office-based, Qatar
Work Schedule: 5 days per week
Contract Duration: 33 months
About the Role:
We are seeking a Civil Engineer to manage structural design and construction activities for large building and civil/infrastructure projects. The role includes design review, pre-commissioning, commissioning, hand-over, and supervision of multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct civil and structural engineering tasks throughout all project stages.
- Review and approve project drawings, specifications, calculations, and proposed materials.
- Participate in pre-commissioning, commissioning, and hand-over activities.
- Evaluate contract changes and variations; recommend approval or rejection of technical deviations.
- Review and approve method statements from contractors and resolve technical issues.
- Evaluate technical bid packages, participate in pre-tender meetings, and submit technical evaluation reports.
- Plan and coordinate activities of multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver timely technical services.
- Coordinate engineering designs and multi-disciplinary work scopes.
- Support development of personal and team technical skills; mentor junior engineers.
- Resolve technical challenges related to civil/structural work and interfacing disciplines.
- Conduct civil works inspections of leased or completed buildings and ensure final acceptance.
- Ensure achievement of KPIs and customer satisfaction.
- Attend any additional tasks assigned by management.
Candidate Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- 10-12 years' experience in structural design and construction, with at least 6 years in supervisory roles.
- Knowledge of construction activities, project management, and commissioning processes.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
- Proficient in MS Office and structural design software.
- Able to work effectively in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.
