Role Overview

Lead and coordinate all piping engineering, design, and equipment layout functions for offshore greenfield and brownfield projects. Provide technical leadership over a diverse, multidisciplinary team, ensuring all deliverables meet project standards, schedules, and budgets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the piping discipline, managing engineers, designers, stress analysts, and materials specialists.
  • Act as the delegated Piping Discipline Manager when required.
  • Supervise design and engineering activities across concept, FEED, and detail engineering phases.
  • Ensure piping design integrity and compliance with offshore engineering codes and standards.
  • Oversee 3D model reviews, plot plans, and equipment layouts.
  • Collaborate with Project and Engineering Managers, clients, vendors, and contractors.
  • Manage resource planning, manpower allocation, and work share between centres.
  • Monitor project progress and budget, reporting deviations and risks proactively.
  • Implement HSE and quality assurance procedures within the discipline.
  • Contribute to proposal engineering, estimating man-hours, and defining EPC scope.
  • Provide leadership fostering knowledge transfer, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • MME (Ministry of Municipality and Environment) accreditation or willingness to obtain during probation.
  • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or progression towards it is advantageous.
  • Extensive experience in offshore piping design, stress analysis, pipe supports, and equipment layout for oil & gas projects.
  • Strong knowledge of international and local piping codes, standards, and materials specifications.
  • Skilled in project management, cost control, and interfacing with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficient in industry-standard 3D design software (e.g., E3D).
  • Experience with installation, commissioning, hydrotesting, and fabrication requirements.
