JOB TITLE: Chemical and Laboratory Engineer
LOCATION: Guardia Perticara, Basilicata, Italy

CONTRACT: Annually Renewable Contract
WORKING SCHEDULE: Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day (up to 10 hours as per contract)
Key Responsibilities:
- Accountable for all chemical-related activities and laboratory operations, ensuring accurate technical analyses, optimized chemical injection programs, controlled chemical inventory, and cost-effective laboratory management.
- Ensure compliance with quality management systems, regulatory requirements, and company safety standards.
- Act as the focal point and guarantor for Management of Change (MoC) in relation to new chemicals, and act as Treatment Function for the operational site.
- Manage and optimize daily laboratory operations, ensuring safety, equipment reliability, result accuracy, and adherence to applicable standards.
- Validate and interpret laboratory measurements and ensure accurate, timely technical reporting, including trend analysis and performance monitoring.
- Define, validate, and optimize chemical injection rates (including low-flow-rate dosing), set reaction times, and publish weekly and monthly injection instructions in coordination with Operations.
- Prepare technical reports and conduct laboratory testing for new chemicals, including performance, stability, and compatibility evaluations. Identify and assess new chemical solutions and suppliers to optimize treatment programs.
- Manage chemical inventory and daily requests, monitor stock levels, participate in procurement decisions, and control laboratory operational costs (consumables, chemical usage, service contracts, and external analyses).
- Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment to guarantee functionality and compliance.
- Provide and maintain Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for all chemicals and maintain the Production Chemistry Study Report throughout the field lifecycle.
- Collaborate with Production, Field Engineers, HSE teams, and other departments to provide technical documentation, safety support, and data-driven operational recommendations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in chemical engineering within the oil and gas sector.
- Strong understanding of chemical injection systems and equipment management.
- Experience supervising laboratories and expertise in laboratory techniques is considered an advantage.
