Overview:
An exciting opportunity has opened for an experienced Chemical and Laboratory Engineer to join a high-performing operations team in southern Italy. You’ll be leading all aspects of laboratory operations and chemical activities at a major energy facility, ensuring analytical excellence, regulatory compliance, and technical innovation in support of ongoing production.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead day-to-day laboratory activities to ensure safety, accuracy, and compliance with internal quality and safety frameworks.

  • Supervise and mentor lab personnel, promoting a strong safety culture and continuous development.

  • Oversee chemical injection systems, including usage monitoring, stock control, and ordering.

  • Deliver accurate technical analyses, monitor trends, and highlight opportunities for process improvement.

  • Stay up to date with new chemical products and lab technologies; implement improvements where appropriate.

  • Ensure the proper maintenance, calibration, and functionality of laboratory equipment.

  • Collaborate with production, field, and safety teams to align chemical operations with broader operational goals.

Requirements:

  • Degree-qualified in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in chemical engineering and/or lab management within the energy, oil & gas, or heavy industry sectors.

  • Proficient in laboratory procedures, equipment management, and chemical injection systems.

  • Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
