Job Title: Cables Offshore Client Representative
Location: UK Offshore (mobilisation from Grimsby, Lincolnshire)
Contract Type: Short-Term Contract (01 May 2025 – 20 June 2025, with potential for extension)
Work Pattern: 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off, 12-hour shifts
IR35 Status: Inside IR35

Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Cables Client Representative to join a high-profile offshore wind project based in UK waters. This role is ideally suited to professionals passionate about renewable energy, who are looking to contribute to the energy transition by playing a key part in overseeing subsea cable installation activities.

Role Purpose
The successful candidate will act as the primary offshore liaison between the project team and the contractor, ensuring operations are executed safely, efficiently, and in line with approved procedures and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate daily records of installation activities throughout the execution phase.

  • Ensure all approved procedures and risk assessments are adhered to.

  • Promote and uphold safety and quality standards on site.

  • Prepare and distribute Daily Progress Reports (DPR) as required, ensuring proper sign-off.

  • Review and stay up to date on risk assessments, method statements, and QHSE documentation.

  • Attend toolbox talks, coordination meetings, and safety briefings to maintain awareness and alignment.

  • Actively witness and inspect installation operations during key activities.

  • Participate in joint safety walks with health and safety representatives.

  • Support incident and observation reporting in line with project protocols.

Deliverables

  • Comprehensive daily records related to load-out, transit, positioning, and installation operations.

  • Completed and signed Daily Progress Reports.

  • Visual inspections and monitoring of offshore work in accordance with approved RAMS.

Note: The Client Representative holds no contractual authority, except in cases where safety, quality, or procedural compliance is compromised—at which point they are empowered to intervene or halt operations.

Mandatory Qualifications & Certifications

  • Valid GWO certification: Sea Survival, Working at Heights, First Aid, Fire Awareness, Manual Handling

  • Valid offshore medical certificate, including Chester Step Test

  • IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent health & safety training

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • Marine awareness training relevant to offshore cable installation

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar offshore role

  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and online reporting tools
