Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth within a Contract Research Organization (CRO) environment. The role focuses on identifying, developing, and managing client relationships across the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device sectors in China. The ideal candidate will have a strong network within the clinical research industry and proven experience delivering CRO services.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute business development strategies to grow CRO services in China

Identify and pursue new business opportunities with pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device companies

Build and manage a robust sales pipeline from lead generation through deal closure

Establish and maintain long-term relationships with key decision-makers in R&D, clinical, procurement, and business development

Promote full-spectrum CRO services including clinical trials, regulatory affairs, biometrics, data management, and medical affairs

Prepare proposals, RFIs, RFPs, and manage contract negotiations in collaboration with internal teams
-
Represent the organisation at industry conferences, networking events, and client meetings
-
Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and client needs to refine sales strategies
-
Collaborate with operations, regulatory, and project delivery teams to ensure smooth client onboarding and satisfaction

Achieve and exceed assigned revenue and growth targets
Key Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Biotechnology, Medicine, Business, or related field
-
Minimum 5–8 years of experience in business development or sales within CRO, pharmaceutical, biotech, or clinical research environments

Proven experience selling CRO services such as clinical trials, regulatory, biometrics, medical affairs, or related areas

Strong network within China’s pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device sectors
-
Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in a CRO environment
-
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills

Ability to work independently and manage multiple opportunities simultaneously

Willingness to travel within China and occasionally across APAC
