About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Branch Manager / General Manager to oversee freight and logistics operations in Amsterdam. This is a senior leadership position responsible for driving operational efficiency, managing teams, strengthening client relationships, and contributing to business growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilities

Oversee daily branch operations including warehousing, transportation, and customs clearance.

Set performance targets and ensure effective coordination across all departments.

Lead, train, and motivate staff with clear performance metrics and development plans.

Manage end-to-end freight processes, implement standard operating procedures, and coordinate with partners.

Act as the primary contact for key clients, resolve issues, and build long-term business relationships.

Manage budgets, analyse costs and revenues, and ensure branch profitability.

Ensure compliance with shipping regulations, trade laws, and safety protocols.

Identify new business opportunities, negotiate contracts, and expand market presence.

Utilise freight software for tracking, analysis, and operational reporting.

Provide regular performance reports and operational updates to senior management.

Contribute to company-wide logistics strategy and growth initiatives.
Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field.

Minimum of 7 years of experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or related fields, including proven leadership responsibility.

Strong knowledge of warehousing, transportation, customs clearance, and international trade practices.

Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.

Proficiency in freight and logistics software tools.

Fluency in Dutch and English.
