Assistant Plant Manager/ Production Manager

What you will enjoy doing
- You will be responsible for overseeing daily operations and assisting the Plant manager in the day to day running of the site.
As part of this role, you will deputise as site landlord, ensuring the appropriate monitoring and maintenance of the site infrastructure and fixed assets is undertaken; and that engineering standards are adhered to
In addition, you will be responsible for the coordination of site production and maintenance activities within defined budgets and targets, ensuring they are performed safely and within legislative and management system framework
Provide cover for Production Shift Managers when required
You will manage asset control, administration and site security resources and processes, including visitor inductions and emergency response
Play an important role in coaching a team of Production Shift Managers, Shift Supervisors, Asset control and the plant maintenance team on site to help them meet their specific objectives and development plans
Lastly, you will be a key player in collaborating with key stakeholders, both internally and externally
What makes you great
- You have an HNC or HND qualification (or be committed to complete if not qualified)
In addition, you have a NEBOSH/IOSH Certificate (or equivalent) or be committed to complete if not qualified
Previous management experience in an industrial setting, alongside experience of people management and development would be advantageous
You have experience engaging and working with recognised Trade Unions and can apply business policies and procedures to include disciplinary and disputes in line with Trade Union National Agreements
A demonstrable proven track record in managing and motivating personnel to ensure development and engagement with the ability to communicate at all levels and establish positive relationships with key stakeholders such as Trade Union representatives
