JOB TITLE: ASI and Other Superintendent

LOCATION: Afungi - Cabo Delgado, Mozambique

ASSIGNMENT TYPE: Rotational - 28 days On/28 Days Off

START DATE: 01/05/2026

CONTRACT LENGTH: Annually Renewable Contract

Key Responsibilities:

- Foster a strong safety commitment within the project team and all contractors/subcontractors by demonstrating robust HSE knowledge and leadership.

- Ensure compliance with all HSE requirements to promote a healthy and safe working environment.

- Analyse and report on contractor and subcontractor performance, identify deviations/risks, and contribute to timely mitigation proposals for project management.

- Oversee site works for ASI, ensuring proper management and execution by contractors and approved subcontractors according to contract agreements.

- Monitor and review contractor assurance activities and verification documentation.

- Ensure all contractor works follow approved plans and procedures.

- Coordinate closely with other discipline superintendents, engineers, planners, authorities, contractors, and vendors to achieve contract deliverables.

- Deliverables include: safety compliance, environmental management, assurance, budget and cost control, achievement of project schedule milestones, and adherence to project/national specifications and standards.

- Gather and validate project "lessons learned" and provide feedback.

Context and Environment:

- The project entity is a multinational joint venture with significant social performance requirements and is financed by high-profile lenders.

- The Afungi site is extremely remote in northern Mozambique and has unreliable infrastructure and communications.

- The location is subject to malaria, COVID-19, and general security risks; mitigation measures are in place.

- This is a rotational position.

Accountabilities:

- Oversee construction activities within the assigned area, collaborating with the EPC contractor to meet project objectives relating to HSE, quality, schedule, and cost.

- Coordinate with other departments to ensure safe and timely execution of work, delivering a fit-for-purpose facility.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

- Degree/diploma or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline and/or Oil & Gas construction.

- Minimum of 10 years' experience in related discipline work with general knowledge of the oil and gas industry.

- Comprehensive understanding of critical success factors for large, complex projects, including safety, environment, work organization, cost, schedule, quality, organizational competency, and reputational risk.

- Strong HSE culture, exceptional leadership and communication skills, and ability to influence key project decisions.

- Excellent English proficiency required; Portuguese or French is advantageous.
