Description:
Client Reps - Boulder Clearance/Seabed Preparation
Reporting to: Offshore Installation Manager, Array Cable Installation
Role Overview: Act as the Client project representative on board Boulder Clearance Vessel during seabed preparation activities
Key Responsibilities / Tasks / Deliverables:
Responsibilities:
- Maintain an accurate record of all installation activities on a daily basis throughout the execution phase
- Ensure that all relevant approved procedures and risk assessments are followed by the Contractor
- Ensure the Contractor proactively manages safety and quality
- Act, behave and lead by example according to Client's values
Tasks:
- Prepare and distribute Daily Progress Reports (DPR) as required
- Ensure the DPRs are signed by all required parties
- Review and understand RA/MS and QHSE documents as required before execution phase commences and keep updated on changes in the documents
- Attend daily meetings, toolbox talks and any other discussions to ensure that the works are being carried out in a safe manner to the required quality
- During all defined key activities and otherwise as often as practicable be present as a witness during installation. Access all work areas provided it is safe to do so. Screen all installation progress reporting tools used by Contractor
- Participate in safety walks with HSE representatives from the Client and Contractor organisations
- Synergi reporting as supervised by the specific package and project from incidents and from safety walks
Output:
- Daily recording of activities relating to seabed boulder clearance/seabed preparation (including screening boulder/debris target list/register)
- Submission of completed and signed DPR
- Immediate reporting of any safety, quality, or procedural deviations
- Report on Contractor equipment upkeep/maintenance programmes
Decision Authority:
- Authority to intervene or stop the operation in case of safety, quality infringements or the procedures not being carried out as per approved RAMS
- Can recommend and agree to minor changes to the various works ongoing on a daily basis
Qualification / Requirements:
Mandatory:
- GWO courses: Sea Survival, Working at Heights, First Aid, Fire Awareness, Manual Handling
- HUET, STCW 2010, OPITO or BOSIET and EBS (STASS, HEED or EBS)
- OEUK (or equivalent) medical certificate including Chester Step
- IOSH Managing Safely or similar HSE training
- Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in seabed boulder clearance/seabed preparation operations (ROV grab, PLGR, cable cutting etc.)
Preferred:
- LOLER and CDM
- Marine awareness qualifications as required by the package role
- Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience as offshore client representative
- IT proficient (Microsoft Word, Excel and Internet); DPR and Synergi reporting tools
