Department description and responsibilities:

The Accountant is responsible for managing and overseeing the financial transactions and reports, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with accounting standards.

Project description:

You will be part of the Business Operations Support team Record-to-Report that:

is organized as process center of excellence on topics such as fixed assets, payroll, cost accounting, foreign currency activities, and that ensures an excellent delivery of financial services, performance management and fosters a culture of continuous improvement. As the RTR Business Operations Support accountant, you will assist the RTR BOS Manager in the following areas:

  • Supervise RTR Activities: Oversee daily operations related to RTR processes, including general ledger, fixed assets, intercompany transactions, payroll accounting and financial reporting.
  • Coordinator Role: Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals within the nearshore team, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and professional development.
  • Month-End Close: Coordinate and manage the month-end close process, ensuring all financial data is accurately recorded and reported.
  • Compliance and Controls: Ensure adherence to internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Reporting: Prepare and review financial reports, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding R2R activities, providing updates and resolving issues as needed.
  • System Management: Oversee the use of financial systems and tools, ensuring they are effectively utilized and maintained.
  • Participate as SME: Act as a subject matter expert in the review, optimization, automation, and digitalization of certain RTR processes. Support improvement projects by bringing ideas, sharing expertise, assisting in testing applications, and providing feedback.
  • Participate in End-to-End Projects: Set up requirements, meet project milestones, and manage testing and implementation.

Technical profile requirements:

  • You have a clear understanding and knowledge of the IFRS accounting rules.
  • You have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a relevant position in manufacturing companies, automotive industry is a plus.
  • You have an understanding of shared services center operations and experience with SLAs, KPIs, and performance metrics.
  • You are able to work in a highly IS system driven environment (SAP S/4HANA, Group reporting,...) as such experience with the new technologies and a strong knowledge of ERP Tools especially in the SAP suite (FI/CO, Fixed Assets,...) is required.

Non-Technical profile requirements:

  • You have a very strong technical background in accounting (eg general accounting, cost accounting), process and eager to engage in automation projects.
  • You are a team player who encourages his/her colleagues and seeks for team results.
  • You are fluent in English. Knowledge of Dutch, French or German are an asset.
  • Curiosity and ownership are part of your DNA.
  • You work in a structured way within a changing environment and capable to meet the deadlines.

Methodology/Certification requirements:

  • - Bachelor's degree in Finance, accounting or a related field

Language Skills:

  • You are fluent in English + Dutch or French

Onsite presence:

  • 3 days onsite presence required after onboarding period.
