JOB TITLE: WELL PERFORMANCE ENGINEER

CLIENT: GLOBAL SUPERMAJOR (OIL AND GAS)

ASSIGNMENT TYPE: RESIDENTIAL CONTRACT ROLE

CONTRACT LENGTH: INITIAL CONTRACT UNTIL THE END OF THE YEAR (31 ST OF DECEMBER WITH POSSIBILITY OF EXTENSION)

LOCATION: ESBJERG, DENMARK

WORK SCHEDULE: MONDAY - FRIDAY (40 HOURS PER WEEK)

WFH: UP TO 2 DAYS A WEEK

 

 

JOB DEMENSIONS

- On the Danish continental shelf, CLIENT operates 18 fields from 50 offshore platforms and 393 wells (104 injectors) and 5 processing hubs, including 3 permanently or partially manned treatment centers.

- Operated Gas and Oil production (CS): ~ 55,000 boepd (daily production with Tyra), representing 91% of all Danish hydrocarbon production.

- Operated Budget (CS): CAPEX & ABEX ~ $480 million, OPEX € ~ $230 million.

The IPOC consists of following functions and disciplines:

- Production Coordinator

- Production Method

- Maintenance Engineer

- Process engineer

- Well Performance Engineer (subject of this job description)

 

ACTIVITIES

- Daily review of well production and injection performance, identify gaps and corrective measures.

- Identify well related threats and issues with potential to affect the safety and productivity of the installation.

- In collaboration with DOCC operator and the rest of the Well Performance Team, Direct scenario /situation based well optimization initiatives and provide input for shortfall forecasting.

- Awareness of well intervention programs.

- Prepare well programs e.g. Start up, injection test etc.

- Provide input to the risk and opportunity register for wells, interventions and workovers based on D2D observation and challenges.

- Daily task resolution and problem solving (KanBan Activities)

- Initiate and execute corrective actions together with the IPOC team

- Follow up on well related shortfalls, identify and initiate corrective actions. (well optimization, maintenance issues)

- Input for D2D activities e.g., Casing bleeds, inflow testing and alike

- Provide first line assessment on well integrity issues and ensure issues are being addressed to wellservice /well integrity owner.

- Represent Well Performance Team in relevant risk assessment e.g., DGS assessment, HAZOP, HAZID, etc

 

CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT

The IPOC is the main interface between the offshore and onshore organization in production and operational matters. Hence the IPOC shall be capable of operating in the space between and bridging the two entities with the objective to support and solve most of all production and operational issues arisen on the installations. Matters which cannot be solved in the IPOC either due to complexity, magnitude, or timeframe shall be handed over to the Tier 2 organization. The IPOC is a multi-discipline unit that shall be capable of identifying and analyzing upcoming or already arisen issues. In close collaboration with the offshore community, ensure sound response is taken within agreed time frame to ensure the short-term safety and integrity of the installation, as well as meeting the Environmental and Production (Production and Injection) KPIs set forward for the installation in question.

 ACCOUNTABILITIES/PURPOSE

 To ensure fast and appropriate response to threatening or already acknowledged situations affecting the Safety, Environment, as well as Operation and Production performance of the installations, the Integrated Production Optimization Cell [IPOC] is given the Authority and Autonomy to identify and initiate the required response in collaboration and agreement with the offshore community [RSES], to avoid escalation and/or remedy of the situation.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

- Formal education: BSc in Relevant Technical Discipline

- Professional experience: More than 3 years of relevant experience;

- Requires strong interpersonal skills with historical operational/well operations experience, recognizing and adapting to integration requirements with 2G&R peers, prior exposure to long horizontal wells and multi-zone completions desirable.

- Communication skills: Strong ability to explain concepts to non-specialist members of other teams.

- Team and peer relationship builder

- Previous Experience of Relevant Petroleum Engineering Tools
