Site Contract Manager
Location: Boden, Sweden
Contract Type: Annually Renewable Contract
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday
Residential / Rotation: Full-time residential or rotational (5 weeks in Boden, 3 weeks remote, including one vacation week)

We are working with a pioneering green steel production company that is constructing a major industrial facility in northern Sweden. This innovative project aims to produce green steel with up to 95% lower CO2 emissions compared to conventional production.

Site Contract Manager
The Site Contract Manager will be an active and engaged member of the Contract Management team, supporting Project Leads, Construction Managers, and other stakeholders. The role reports directly to the Lead Contract Manager / Head of Contracts, with a functional reporting line to the Site Construction Manager / Area Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Manage site contractors in all aspects of contract administration and oversight.

  • Work collaboratively as part of an integrated, cross-functional site team.

  • Identify contractual and commercial risks and develop mitigation strategies.

  • Maintain a flexible approach while adhering to company requirements and standards.

  • Support the Project Site and Contract Management teams in defining contracting strategies.

  • Assist with the processing and enforcement of Change Requests, Change Orders, and claims.

  • Participate in reviewing and examining contracts to support negotiations.

  • Coordinate and align with other contract managers to ensure consistency.

  • Ensure uniform interpretation of contractual clauses and consistent handling of changes, claims, and lessons learned.

  • Support project teams regarding contractual issues and correspondence, both internal and external.

  • Liaise with departments including Legal, Engineering, Finance, and Technical.

  • Provide guidance on contractual matters, risks, opportunities, and assist with identifying, analysing, mitigating, and tracking project risks.

  • Work in compliance with the organisation’s policies, procedures, and systems.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience as a Contract Manager on major construction projects.

  • Background in legal, commercial, or technical disciplines; university degree or equivalent.

  • Clear, open, and concise communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
