Job Title: Senior Offshore Structural Engineer

Location: Hampshire

Contract Length: 12 months

IR35 Status: Outside IR35

Role Overview:

The Senior Offshore Structural Engineer will be responsible for executing structural analysis and design for offshore substructures and topsides, ensuring the best technical solutions are applied during various project phases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute structural analysis for offshore substructures and topsides.
  • Study and define the best technical solutions for offshore structures during feasibility, FEED, and detailed design stages.
  • Review technical documentation and analyses produced by others.
  • Awareness of structural design standards and correct application of Company HSEQ policies.
  • Awareness of marine operations and naval interfaces with structural design.
  • Liaise with other disciplines during project execution to ensure successful completion of assigned tasks.
  • Prepare and review all technical documentation related to structural design during various project phases (Conceptual Study, FEED, Tender and Contract package preparation, detailed engineering, Operations).
  • Review Bidder Calls for Tender & Selection (qualifications, clarifications, recommendations, etc.) for structural aspects.

Qualifications & Essential Experience:

  • Degree in a relevant engineering discipline such as Civil Engineering, Offshore Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering (with a focus on structures).
  • Demonstrable experience in the design of offshore structures in all project phases (feasibility study, FEED, detailed engineering, and Operations).
  • Proficient in the use of the following software: DNVL SESEM Suite, USFOS, ANSYS, SACS, STAAD.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with other disciplines due to the multidisciplinary approach of Projects.
  • Able to handle highly complex and diverse tasks while applying a high level of independent judgement.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Significant experience in the analysis and design of offshore structures, in accordance with standards such as ISO1900 series, API RP2A, AISC, DNV codes.
  • Ability to create and verify FEM models of fixed offshore structures.
  • Experience in the design and assessment of foundation systems.
  • Experience in the re-design and assessment of brownfield structures, including life extension, reliability analyses, with a strong attitude toward problem solving and the ability to make critical choices.
  • Experience in design for non-linear analyses, including blast, dropped objects, impact, redundancy, and pushover analyses.
  • Experience with floaters design.
