Senior Electrical Engineer – Water Sector (UK Wide)
Location: Salford (Hybrid role – design and site-based)

We’re working with major UK consultancies and engineering delivery partners who are expanding their water sector teams. They’re seeking a skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join a multi-disciplinary design group supporting a growing portfolio of clean and wastewater infrastructure projects across the country.

This position offers the chance to work across all project phases — from feasibility and FEED to detailed design, construction, and commissioning. It’s an ideal role for an engineer who enjoys technical challenges, collaboration, and seeing designs come to life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and review design deliverables through all lifecycle stages

  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure alignment on scope and delivery

  • Develop electrical load schedules and specify MCCs, telemetry, and instrumentation systems

  • Prepare scopes of work, support bid evaluations, and manage sub-contract packages

  • Contribute during site surveys, installations, and commissioning

  • Ensure compliance with WIMES and applicable UK/international standards

  • Promote safety, sustainability, and technical excellence across all projects

Requirements

  • Degree or advanced apprenticeship in Electrical, Electronic, or Control Engineering

  • Chartered Engineer (or working towards) with a relevant professional body

  • Proven experience in EICA design for water or wastewater projects

  • Skilled in reviewing and approving construction documentation

  • Sound understanding of UK regulations (ATEX, CE/UKCA, EMC, PED)

  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with a proactive, collaborative mindset
