Job Title: Schedule Leader

Assignment Type: Annually Renewable Contract
Location: Lulea, Sweden
Residential / Rotation: 4 weeks on site, 1 week working remote, on rotation. Working 5 days per week, 8 hours per day

Kintec are currently partnered with a multi-national corporation which provides consulting, engineering, and architecture services Internationally constructing a plant in Northern Sweden that will produce Green Steel - Green Steel production emits up to 95% less CO ₂ compared conventional steel production.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Integrate, manage, and optimize the master construction schedule, ensuring alignment with the project's strategic objectives and seamless integration with engineering and procurement plans.
- Coordinate with supervisors and the construction manager, ensuring synchronization of field activities and early mitigation of potential deviations.
- Implement advanced planning and sequencing strategies to maximize operational efficiency, minimize discipline interferences, and optimize the allocation of critical resources on-site.
- Establish and lead monitoring and control systems for physical progress, ensuring transparency in reporting and data-driven decision making.
- Execute dynamic and precise schedule updates, integrating actual progress, assessing the impact of changes, and analyzing alternative recovery scenarios.
- Generate, interpret, and present in-depth progress curve analyses, segmented by key strategic areas, disciplines, and critical work packages.
- Identify and manage scheduling risks on-site, developing contingency plans and recovery strategies to mitigate schedule impacts.
REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS
General Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in project planning and scheduling within large-scale EPC/EPCM environments (mining, energy, oil & gas, infrastructure).
- Expert-level proficiency in Primavera P6 (mandatory), with strong command of MS Project and reporting tools such as Power BI; familiarity with integrated systems like SAP, EcoSys, or Deltek Cobra is highly desirable.
- Proven track record leading multidisciplinary planning teams on megaprojects exceeding $500M USD, with full accountability for master schedules, lookaheads, progress curves, and resource histograms.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, audit, and optimize integrated schedules (engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning) using methodologies such as CPM, EVM, and Lean Construction.
Technical Skills
Project Scheduling & Planning
Advanced expertise in Primavera P6, including:
- Creation and maintenance of the Master Schedule.
- Development of detailed project schedules across permitting, engineering, procurement, construction, and start-up.
- Generation of package-specific schedules for procurement and bidding processes.
- Establishment and maintenance of discipline schedules integrated with the overall project timeline.
- Expertise in WBS development, activity definition, duration estimating, and logical sequencing.
Project Monitoring & Control
- Experience in schedule monitoring and progress tracking, including:
- Identifying critical path activities and ensuring alignment with project goals.
- Evaluating project performance using Earned Hours (HH) analysis: planned vs. earned vs. forecasted hours.
- Development and maintenance of critical path reports and schedule performance metrics.
- Expertise in schedule impact analysis to determine risks, delays, and recovery options.
- Coordination of cost engineering and planning requirements with project teams.
Progress Reporting & Data Visualization
- Preparation of weekly and monthly progress reports summarizing key schedule performance indicators.
- Development of S-curves, including:
- Overall project S-curves for monitoring trends.
- WBS Level 2 package-specific S-curves for detailed tracking.
- Early and late S-curve identification using Primavera P6.
- Proficiency in Power BI dashboards for real-time reporting of construction progress and schedule performance.
Soft Skills
- Strong ability to coordinate across multidisciplinary teams with clear communication of scheduling requirements.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills for scheduling and risk mitigation.
- Leadership in risk workshops, scheduling reviews, and progress meetings.
Languages
- Fluent English (Intermediate-Advanced) for technical communication, meetings, and reporting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in outage planning and startup sequencing to ensure smooth transitions between project phases.
- Background in mechanical trades or maintenance planning.
- Knowledge of industry standards, best practices, and compliance requirements for project scheduling.
