I am currently looking to speak with an Electrical Engineer who will take up the position of Principle Electrical Engineer for our client based in Preston 

 

Salary £60,000 - £65,000 + Car Allowance + Bonus + Pension  + Hybrid

Candidate Industry Background : Construction / Mining /  Nuclear /  Rail / Refinery /  Chemical

Company Background

Client is a leading COMAH infrastructure business and operator of several critical UK energy sites, currently working on a number new projects such CCS /  Hydrogen and alternative energy.

Key Responsibilities

      Oversee successful delivery of design, specification, quality, and cost targets within electrical disciplines using the Electrical Engineering team.

Ensure compliance with essential health and safety standards, relevant industry regulations, and legislation.

Collaborate effectively with technical and sales teams to ensure smooth, documented design handovers.

Clearly define, break down, and cost project scopes with clear deliverables for the design team and subcontractors.

Track and forecast overhead recovery, implementing a standard electrical equipment database to monitor plan versus actual progress.

Provide budget hours and component pricing for new bids while managing load and capacity planning across the electrical engineering team.

Lead value engineering and cost reduction initiatives, demonstrating measurable improvements.

Minimum Requirements

      Extensive background in managing electrical or electrically focused project delivery, including team leadership and subcontractor management.

Well-versed in the latest IET Wiring Regulations.

Practical experience with EC&I systems and electrical design tools.

Proven track record in resource allocation and budget oversight.

Strong knowledge of current design standards and key health and safety protocols.

Skilled in effective resource planning, team leadership, and project management.

Ability to build a culture of accountability and monitor key performance indicators.

Experienced in process engineering, material handling systems, and control mechanisms.

Adept at problem-solving and maintaining efficiency under tight deadlines.

Strong leadership abilities, with a focus on team development and management.

Highly organized with the capacity to prioritize tasks in a cross-functional environment.

Dedicated to continuous improvement, with a focus on measurable outcomes and KPI-driven results.

Working knowledge and understanding of ATEX regulations.
