Principal Pipeline Design Engineer - 12 month contract - Manchester - Hybrid - Outside
Principal pipeline design engineer leading the pipeline engineering effort across front end, detailed design through to construction and commissioning projects.
Key Responsibilities:
▪ Responsible for the technical content, solutions and delivery of Pipeline Engineering activities and deliverables on any given project including budgets and deadlines.
▪ Responsible for the checking and approval of pipeline engineering design work in accordance with relevant international codes a Company Procedures.
▪ To act as focal point with the Piping team, liaising and coordinating with this and other disciplines as required.
▪ Experience in Stress analysis for onshore and offshore pipelines using CAESAR-II
▪ Pipeline mechanical design & associated calculations like wall thickness, sizing, material selection and optimisation, route selection and optimization etc.
▪ Preparation of pipeline engineering estimates and schedules.
▪ Demonstrable use in the application modern GIS software Packages
▪ Champions organisational responsibilities regarding Health, Safety Sustainability and Environmental issues with respect to employees, contractors, clients and third parties, ensuring that activities are all managed in accordance with Company policy and client requirements.
Essential:
▪ Knowledge in the application of relevant regulatory codes and standards (e.g. PD8010, IGEM/TD1, ASME B31.4, B31.12, etc.) including pipeline routing and mechanical design.
▪ Preparation of pipeline related specifications and datasheets
▪ Specification and methods of Pipeline Crossing Details
▪ Pipeline risk identification, quantification, management and HSEx requirements. ▪ Preparation and review of pipeline drawings / documents / calculations
Desirable:
▪ Experience in design studies for CO2 and H2 Pipelines
▪ ASME B31.3 Code for Process Piping and other standards.
▪ Experience in design reviews of Piping drawings / documents / calculations submitted by Vendors / Contractor
▪ Technical Bid Evaluation and preparation of schedules and project budgets
▪ Pipeline cathodic protection design
Qualifications:
▪ Bachelor's degree in engineering
▪ Chartered Engineer with minimum 10 years' experience in pipeline design and detailed engineering
