Job Title: Lead Project Engineer

Client: Large global engineering consultancy doing a project in South East Asia

Location: Needs to be based in Jakarta

Job Overview:

The Lead Project Engineer will support the Project Manager in overseeing the CONTRACTOR's team activities to ensure project milestones are met, work complies with relevant government and international legislation, and exceeds COMPANY's technical, cost, and HSSE (Health, Safety, Security, and Environment) expectations. This role will be critical in managing and coordinating the project, ensuring all deliverables meet the required standards while adhering to COMPANY's objectives in technical performance, budget, and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Coordination:

      Coordinate CONTRACTOR's team to ensure project milestones are achieved according to the contract requirements.

Compliance Assurance: Ensure all work complies with applicable laws, standards, specifications, and COMPANY's technical, cost, and HSSE expectations.

Design & Engineering Review: Assist in the continuous review and validation of the design against COMPANY's goals and the specifications set out in the contract.

Team Management: Support the Project Manager in organizing the project team, setting clear objectives and priorities, and ensuring adequate resource allocation for successful project execution.

Monitoring & Progress Reporting: Regularly monitor project progress, conduct audits and reviews, and report on any deviations from the plan, including corrective actions.

Risk Management: Ensure that the project is managed within the context of COMPANY's risk-based HSSE framework and that safety, health, and environmental standards are fully met.

Interface Management: Coordinate with other contractors and third parties, ensuring effective communication and collaboration to meet project requirements.

Leadership: Provide leadership in ensuring that all aspects of the project are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required technical and safety standards.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

Education:

      Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering-related field (ideally professionally registered or chartered as an engineer with a recognized engineering body).

Experience:

 

Minimum of 15 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.

At least 10 years of experience in project engineering.

At least 5 years of experience in a Lead Project Engineer role.

Extensive experience with FEED and EPCI processes for pipeline or equivalent projects.

 

HSSE Experience: Previous experience working within a risk-based HSSE framework.

Skills and Competencies:

    Strong technical, commercial, and HSSE expertise.

Proven leadership and team management capabilities.

Excellent project management and project control skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface with multiple stakeholders.

In-depth knowledge of international standards, regulations, and best practices in the oil and gas industry.

Ability to identify risks and implement corrective measures as required.
