Job Title: Lead Planning Engineer

Client: Large global engineering consultancy doing a project in South East Asia

Location:Must be based in Jakarta

Job Overview:

The Lead Planning Engineer will be responsible for providing all planning and scheduling services during the FEED phase of the project. This role is pivotal in ensuring the timely, efficient, and successful completion of the project by developing, maintaining, and reporting on project schedules. The Lead Planning Engineer will work closely with other disciplines, perform risk analysis, and ensure alignment on project priorities to meet COMPANY's internal requirements and project objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Schedule Development: Prepare an integrated FEED Study schedule to identify key activities, critical work sequences, and overall duration to ensure successful project completion. Interface with other studies or surveys to ensure all aspects of the project are aligned.

Progress Monitoring: Update the integrated FEED Study Schedule monthly to report progress to COMPANY, identifying any deviations from the plan and recommending corrective actions.

Project Execution Planning: Develop an Integrated Overall Project Execution Schedule, highlighting key activities and critical work sequences to ensure timely and successful project delivery.

Risk Analysis: Conduct schedule risk analysis when necessary to identify potential project delays or issues and develop mitigation strategies.

Interface Scheduling: Develop and maintain project interface schedules, ensuring the proper status reporting of interfaces between CONTRACTOR and COMPANY.

Progress Reporting: Develop and maintain the overall project progress reporting system, coordinating progress reporting to COMPANY on a regular basis.

Risk Reviews: Participate in regular risk reviews within CONTRACTOR's organization, ensuring any potential project risks are identified and managed.

HSSE Engagement: Actively engage in HSSE leadership, awareness, and training programs to promote a strong safety culture on the project.

Coordination: Work closely with other CONTRACTOR disciplines to ensure alignment on project priorities, avoiding conflicts and promoting smooth project execution.

Specialist Recommendations: Provide recommendations to the Project Controls Manager regarding any specialized input or resources required to meet project objectives.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

Education:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field.

Experience:

Minimum of 15 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.

At least 10 years of experience in project planning and scheduling.

At least 5 years of experience in a Lead Planning Engineer role.

Significant experience in FEED and EPCI phases for offshore pipeline or equivalent projects.

Proven track record in planning large-scale projects within the oil and gas industry.

Demonstrated capability in planning and scheduling services for worldwide projects with a major engineering contractor.

Technical Expertise: Extensive experience in project controls functions within the oil and gas or petrochemical industries.

Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience using project control systems and software applications such as Primavera v6 and PertMaster.

Project Specific Experience: Demonstrated experience in planning pipeline or equivalent projects, with the ability to list project names and phases.

Skills and Competencies:

      In-depth knowledge of project planning and scheduling techniques.

Ability to develop and manage integrated project schedules.

Strong understanding of risk management and scheduling analysis.

Proven ability to work with diverse teams and coordinate project activities.

Strong communication skills, with the ability to report on schedule progress to internal and external stakeholders.
