Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled mid-level Grid & Electrical Engineer to strengthen our in-house capabilities for executing EPC works for onshore wind and battery projects from an electrical engineering perspective. The successful candidate will manage grid, utility-related activities, substations, and electrical system designs. This position requires experience in EPC project execution, preferably for wind projects in Japan, to ensure optimal workload distribution within the GEE team and enhance the quality of engineering output.
Key Responsibilities:

Detailed Electrical Engineering: Lead electrical engineering tasks for EPC projects, including grid management, utility-related activities, and substation designs.

Cable Design and Drafting: Work on detailed cable designs and drafting using AutoCAD, including undersea cables for offshore wind projects.

SCADA & High-Voltage Systems: Troubleshoot issues in high-voltage systems and SCADA during project execution.

Stakeholder Coordination: Coordinate and attend meetings with METI, utility companies, and contractors. Prepare clear agendas and minutes for meetings.

Site Evaluation: Conduct site visits for technical evaluations, including safety inspections and reviews.

Business Development Support: Provide technical support for business development teams during project evaluation, cost budgeting, and technical assessments.

Government & Contractor Liaison: Ensure smooth project execution by facilitating engagements with government agencies, utility companies, and contractors.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all activities meet safety standards and regulatory requirements.

Task Distribution: Efficiently distribute tasks within the GEE team to manage both onshore and offshore wind projects.

Prerequisites:

Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Wind Engineering background is a plus).

EPC Project Experience: Proven experience in EPC projects, especially in onshore wind (offshore wind experience is desirable).

Cable Design: Hands-on experience in detailed cable design (all types of cables, including undersea cables for offshore wind).

Knowledge of Electrical Systems: Extensive knowledge of extra high-voltage, high-voltage, and medium-low voltage systems.

Battery Energy Storage Systems: Understanding of large-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).

SCADA & Communication Systems: Proficiency in SCADA, monitoring, and communication systems.

Harmonic Analysis: Ability to analyze harmonics in electrical systems.

AutoCAD Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD for drafting Single Line Diagrams (SLD), layouts, and cable routes.

Grid Application Knowledge: Experience with grid application processes for wind projects is a plus.

Software Proficiency: Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel).
