Our client, a leading Global Engineering company, has secured significant projects in Africa and the Middle East. To support these initiatives, we are expanding our Environmental department and are seeking a skilled Environmental Engineer to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on high-profile projects within the Oil & Gas, Offshore, and Renewables sectors.
Key Responsibilities:

Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA):
Conduct Environmental Impact Assessments for various project activities. Identify potential environmental impacts and develop appropriate mitigation strategies to minimize adverse effects on the environment. -
Permitting and Regulatory Compliance:
Manage the permitting process by securing all necessary environmental permits and approvals from relevant authorities. Ensure ongoing compliance with environmental regulations and standards throughout the project lifecycle. -
Environmental Management Plans:
Develop and implement project-specific environmental plans, including Environmental Management Plans (EMP), Waste Management Plans (WMP), and other necessary deliverables. Ensure these plans are effectively executed and adhered to. -
Stakeholder Engagement:
Maintain effective communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including regulators, the Client, contractors, and NGOs. Address environmental issues and concerns in a timely and transparent manner. -
Incident Response:
Develop and implement incident response plans for environmental incidents. Ensure timely and accurate reporting of any incidents to the relevant regulatory authorities. -
Reporting:
Prepare and maintain reporting templates. Collate and analyze environmental reports from project worksites, ensuring that all necessary data is accurately captured and communicated.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience in conducting Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and developing environmental management plans.
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, permitting processes, and compliance requirements within the Oil & Gas, Offshore, and Renewables industries.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with regulators, clients, and contractors.
- Experience in developing and implementing incident response plans and managing environmental incidents.
- Proficient in preparing and analyzing environmental reports.
