Assignment Type: Annually Renewable Contract

Location: Lulea, Sweden

Residential/ Rotation: 3 weeks on office/site, one week working on remote, on rotation. Working 5 days per week, 8 hours per day

Kintec are currently partnered with a multi-national corporation which provides consulting, engineering, and architecture services Internationally constructing a plant in Northern Sweden that will produce Green Steel - Green Steel production emits up to 95% less CO ₂  compared conventional steel production.

ROLE OVERVIEW

Senior project controls specialist with 20+ years' experience overseeing integrated schedule management, cost control, risk & opportunity management, and performance reporting on large industrial EPC projects. Responsible for developing and maintaining master schedules in Primavera P6, applying CPM and Earned Value Management (EVM) methodologies, producing analytical dashboards and reports (Power BI / Excel), and managing budgets, cash flow, and contract change control. Acts as a key leadership interface between engineering, procurement, construction, HSE teams, and senior stakeholders to ensure transparency, mitigate risk, drive corrective actions, and maintain delivery alignment against strategic project objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Schedule Management: Develop, implement, and monitor the Master Schedule using tools like Primavera P6. Apply Critical Path Method (CPM) and Earned Value Management (EVM) techniques.
  • Cost Control & Budgeting: Establish and maintain project budgets, track expenditures, and manage cost variances. Prepare cash flow forecasts and implement corrective actions when needed.
  • Risk & Opportunity Management: Conduct risk assessments, develop mitigation strategies, and monitor potential schedule or cost impacts.
  • Reporting & Data Analysis: Generate dashboards and performance reports using tools like Power BI and Excel. Communicate progress to stakeholders and recommend corrective actions.
  • Contract & Change Management: Interpret EPC contracts, manage change orders, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Team Coordination: Collaborate with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and HSE Managers to align project objectives and resolve conflicts.
  • Leadership & Decision-Making: Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and make informed decisions under pressure.
  • Communication & Negotiation: Skilled in stakeholder engagement and conflict resolution.
  • Analytical Thinking: Strong capability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
  • Adaptability & Problem-Solving: Respond effectively to project changes and unforeseen challenges.

REQUIRED

  • Profile with University degree or higher qualification.
  • More than 20 years of experience in Project Control (Schedule, cost control, R&O and reporting).
