Job Title: Cost Controller
Client: Pioneering Green Steel Production Company

Kintec are currently partnered with a pioneering Green Steel Production Company who are constructing a plant in Northern Sweden that will produce Green Steel - Green Steel production emits up to 95% less CO ₂ compared conventional steel production.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The successful candidate will play a key role in monitoring project budgets, controlling expenditures, and ensuring financial accuracy throughout all project phases. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and close collaboration with construction and project management teams to ensure cost efficiency and transparency.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor and track project budget commitments, actuals, and forecasts, including purchase orders, invoices, and change orders.
- Control remaining budgets against forecasted costs and ensure alignment with financial targets.
- Calculate updated forecasted costs based on BoQs, MTOs, unit rates, and remaining durations.
- Evaluate and negotiate change requests in close coordination with the construction team.
- Identify potential cost overruns by monitoring site conditions and project events.
- Follow up on contractor pay applications and change order payments.
- Participate in client meetings to present and discuss approved change requests.
- Report project cost evolution, trends, and variations to the Project Management Team.
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years of experience as a Cost Controller on large-scale industrial or infrastructure projects.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, forecasts, and cost tracking systems effectively.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and reporting skills.
- Proficiency with cost management tools and Excel (experience with SAP or similar systems is a plus).
- Degree in Engineering, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- EU citizenship required.
