Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Controls Field Service Engineer (FSE) for an offshore project located in the Gulf of Mexico, near Altamira. The role involves working on the commissioning and start-up of LM6000 Aero gas turbines with a focus on turbine control systems. Responsibilities may also include control system troubleshooting, optimization, and performance testing of control applications for the turbines and associated equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Commissioning and Start-up: Play a critical role in the successful commissioning and start-up of the LM6000 Aero gas turbines, focusing on the proper integration and operation of the turbine control systems.
  • Control System Integration: Ensure the correct configuration and setup of Mark Vie control systems. Troubleshoot and adjust controls to meet operational requirements.
  • Turbine Controls Support: Provide hands-on support in the operation and performance optimization of control systems to ensure the gas turbines operate according to industry standards.
  • Offshore Operations: Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, technicians, and other offshore personnel to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient operations of the turbine control systems.
  • Troubleshooting and Diagnostics: Conduct real-time diagnostics of the control systems to identify and resolve issues during commissioning and start-up. This includes analyzing control system behavior, data acquisition, and performance testing.
  • Control System Optimization: Adjust and fine-tune control parameters to optimize performance and ensure compliance with offshore operational standards and environmental regulations.
  • DLN/DLE Tuning and Mapping: Perform tuning and mapping of Dry Low NOx (DLN) and Dry Low Emission (DLE) combustion systems, ensuring accurate optimization for emission control and operational efficiency.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all operations comply with offshore safety protocols, environmental regulations, and company policies, with a focus on maintaining the integrity of control systems during all phases of operation.

Requirements:

  • Control Systems Expertise: Proven experience with Mark Vie turbine control systems aero-derivative gas turbines (experience with LM6000 turbines is highly desirable).
  • Turbine Start-Up and Commissioning: Experience in the commissioning and start-up of turbine control systems, with an ability to adjust, optimize, and troubleshoot complex control architectures.
  • DLN/DLE Tuning/Mapping Experience: Demonstrated experience in tuning and mapping Dry Low NOx (DLN) and Dry Low Emissions (DLE) combustion systems for gas turbines, including optimizing performance and adhering to emissions standards.
  • Offshore Experience: Prior experience working in offshore environments with knowledge of the challenges and demands of remote site operations.
  • Technical Problem Solving: Strong ability to diagnose and resolve control system issues, with a focus on minimizing downtime and ensuring operational efficiency.
