Job Overview:
The Solar Construction Supervisor will oversee the construction and installation of large-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with safety and quality standards. The role involves managing on-site construction teams, coordinating with project stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and environmental guidelines. This position requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, as well as hands-on experience in solar construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise Solar Construction
- : Oversee all on-site aspects of solar PV installation projects, ensuring alignment with project plans, specifications, and schedules.
Team Management: Lead, mentor, and manage construction teams, subcontractors, and labour crews, promoting a productive and safety-conscious environment.
Quality Control: Ensure the highest standards of workmanship and monitor quality control procedures for all construction activities.
Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and OSHA standards, conducting regular safety meetings and inspections to minimize risk and ensure a safe job site.
Scheduling & Coordination: Coordinate with project managers, engineers, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure smooth workflow and timely delivery of materials and services.
Budget Management: Assist in tracking project costs, managing resources efficiently, and ensuring the project stays within budget.
Reporting: Provide regular updates to the Project Manager, tracking project progress, documenting any changes, and addressing potential issues before they impact project delivery.
Permits & Inspections: Ensure compliance with local building codes, permitting processes, and handle inspections with local authorities or third-party agencies.
Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve construction-related issues and obstacles in real time, adjusting plans as necessary to ensure project success.
Qualifications:
Experience
- : 3-5+ years of experience in construction management or supervision, with specific experience in solar or renewable energy projects strongly preferred.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is a plus.
Certifications: OSHA 30 certification required. NABCEP certification is a plus.
Technical Skills: Strong understanding of solar PV systems, electrical installation, and general construction techniques. Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
Leadership Skills: Proven track record of leading construction teams and managing subcontractors effectively.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to coordinate with teams, contractors, and clients.
Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to changing project needs.
Physical Requirements: Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, and perform physical labor when necessary
